Accepted Names in the Genus Acer

This work is the result of a joint effort of the members of the Maple Society Species Group, improved and corrected thanks to the input of several maple specialists and maple growers.

Needless to say, as soon as a names list is published, it becomes outdated. Moreover, taxonomy and the defining of groups is – in part – a subjective process: there will always be a discussion about this or that name. But most importantly, an accepted names list is finally available.

Of course we always remain open to comments and improvements to the list. This will never be a static document, so regular updates will be published whenever needed.
